It's dry here in the Midwest and watering our garden and flowers has been an absolute each day.
We planted pumpkins for the first time this year (!) and admittedly, I had forgotten about them. They're on the other side of my husband's "man cave," hidden from everyday view but thirsty for water.
When I rounded the corner, I was greeted by a patch of prickly weeds – ones that required gloves if I ever hoped to uproot their menacing stalks....

This came "across my desk," if you will, via facebook; an old friend of mine posted it just a while ago. The whole thing is incredible, but it's the "teachable moment" at the end - and its result - that floored me. Lord that we'll all benefit from this story and that all who are parents might be as successful when we face teachable moments. Wow.
